The Day Disney Went To The Dogs…
Besides my family and animals, I LOVE Disney! All things Disney!
Many years ago, I was very fortunate to have been chosen to work for Walt Disney World, attend Disney University, and enjoy the experience of a lifetime!
Fast forward several years, and Disney has continued to hold an important place in my heart. So much so, that in 2004, my husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella’s Castle in the Magic Kingdom, and a year later, we then said “I Do” at Walt Disney World. Most recently we celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary there!
So when I learned that Walt Disney World was combining 2 of my favorites…dogs and Disney, I was truly ecstatic.
Dogs AT Disney World, IN the Magic Kingdom!!?? That was magical indeed!
On a very special day last year, the Magic Kingdom opened its gates to man’s best friend.
Main Street USA was lined with special doggie grass and fire hydrants for our furry friends to feel right at home.
Costumed canines and their parents paraded in front of Cinderella’s Castle.
Prizes were awarded to the top three Top Dogs…
The headless horseman
Chef Ratatouille
And Cruella DE Ville
It was spectacular to see so many four legged friends meet the celebrity Disney Dogs such as Pluto, Bolt, and Goofy!
Lily, a Labrador mix, with a perfect Mickey Mouse spot on her, led the way for the festivities!
Surprisingly, most were not intimidated and were very eager to meet the large costumed characters. Despite their large size, Mickey, and his best friend Pluto, were greeted by many a wagging tail.
Pet loving humans know what an important part of our families our canine companions are, and many families enjoy the Walt Disney World Resort as an extra special family vacation. So why not welcome the entire family-human and canine- to the happiest place on earth!?!
When you put the two together, in a magical place like Walt Disney World, it really is the happiest place on earth!
WDW and it’s resorts don’t regularly allow dogs on property, unless they are certified, registered, therapy assistance dogs. So don’t plan on bringing your dog to Disney World! When planning your trip to Disney, be sure to book your pet’s care with your bonded, insured pet sitting service. Travel guilt free knowing your best friend is safe, secure and healthy in their happiest place on earth…home!
